My First Quilt. Her First Quilt.

Yep!
I did it!
I used a sewing machine for the first time
And made a quilt for my Little Jewel.

The only down side to having this quilt for her...
....I wanna wrap her up in it
RIGHT NOW!
I hold it so tight picturing her in the middle.
Agh!
I love it
I love her
I love life!

I took this class at Scrapbooks, Etc.
Love that place!
They have fabric and scrapbook supplies.
It is awesome!

The class was Friday night.
Started at 5pm and lasted until 11:30pm.
Let me tell ya....that went FAST!

When I got to class the instructor explained how to make the quilt.
The first step was to make the X's in the squares to bind all 3 layers
And then to sew the squares into rows and the rows into a blanket.

Well, I am a bit OCD about some things.
Especially permanent things I make.
So I spent the first HOUR drawing X's with a straight edge ruler
Onto the top layer so everything would be perfect.
Little did I know....
....it is much harder for an inexperienced sewer to sew straight lines.
haha.
So that HOUR was wasted.
No straight lines
Whatsoever
But I love it!

I spent an hour or two cutting the fabric
Then from 5-11:30pm sewing.
Went home and showed Nik the unfinished quilt.
I still had some energy and was on a roll...
so I pulled out my machine again and sewed from Midnight to 1am.
After that, Nik and I went to bed.
The next morning I spent 3+hours cutting the edges to make it raggedy.
Washed it a few times...
....and this is what I got!
(and you can't forget the 2+hours I spent trying to pick out the fabric
while my Grandma Allred was ever-so patient with me.
Just a LITTLE indecisive sometimes.)

Look Ma, I can sew!!!

My Little Jewel's first quilt!

I LOVE IT!!!

Back

And then here are some pictures of me the same day.
Haven't had any belly pictures in a while
So I figured it was time.

 31 weeks 3 days.

 Dear Baby Berry,
I hope you love the quilt I made for you.
You dad and I love it.
It was made with you in mind
And I can't wait to wrap you up inside it.
Or to take you to the park and let you play on it.
You are getting so big and time left is getting so small.
I love how you kick and move so much more every day
Even when it hurts me.
You get the hiccups at least once a day
And last night your Gma and Gpa Berry got to feel them
And so did your Auntie Amy.
I know you might not have liked the hiccups all that much
Because sometimes they do hurt
But it was fun to feel each little one.
And it is fun to feel you wrestle around trying to get rid of them.
Your dad gets hiccups bad too,
So you aren't alone in that aspect.
I just want you to know that
I love knowing that you are my little girl and I am your mommy!
That your daddy is so excited to make you laugh
With raspberries on YOUR stomach.
Oh, and can't forget about next Easter.
Gma Berry is excited to have another little one decorating eggs.
Your Uncle Sam and your daddy are good at it.
They can show you are the cool tricks.
And the Easter egg hunt at Nanu's is a BIG DEAL...
....you we will need to get you some good running shoes!
We need to be the first to find the Purple Polka Dotted egg, k?
Then we win!
Just giving you a heads-up on the awesome family you have!
Everyone is so excited to meet you in 8ish short weeks!

Love,
Mom

DOUBLE DIGITS, BABY!!!

My friends and family call me a Numbers Freak.
I love to count down.
I became a pro while Nik was on his mission...
...and am now perfecting my skills even further with this pregnancy.

As of today....
99 DAYS LEFT!
Nope, not excited...
And I am DEFINITELY NOT the one counting
*sheepish grin*
I'M ECSTATIC!
And if you didn't already calculate...
...that makes it only 14 weeks from tomorrow!
June 22, 2011...HERE WE COME!

Double Digits.
Gosh, this feels good.
To think about the day I found out
I had 246 Days to go.
CRAZY!

If you have been to my house you might have seen the Mission Countdown Board Nik made for us hanging in the hallway.
Well, that board has been used numerous times since.
Any time there is something big to count down to,
my family puts the days back up, just to remove them one night at a time counting down.
They used it for when we moved back home to AZ...FOR GOOD this time.
And now I use it for the arrival of our Sweet Baby Girl.
There are only 2 rows and 3 days left.
(I tried to get a good picture of it but the board is so large and the hall is so small,
it didn't quite work.)
Crazy Talk!

I guess I ought to post pictures of this glorious time
And show off The Bump.
Our Little Princess is approximately the size of an eggplant.
13 inches and around 1.5lbs.
I have my next appointment this Monday so we might actually get an accurate measurement.
We'll see.

25weeks 2days
(not my room.
this was the Random Room for my sister-in-laws wedding this last weekend.
i wish that suitcase in the back was mine for a cruise.
someday.)
Here is a closer picture.
(p.s. I LOVE my skirt.
got it at Ross.
super cute. super silky.)

And I can't leave out the cute couple.
I just LOVE her!
Just when I thought I had ENOUGH sisters...
...cuz 3 is a lot when that is all you have...
...I join her family and we get along so well!
Love my Amy!
And I am so happy for her and Tim
Can't forget that!
What a happy day that was and what a happy life they will have...
...always giggling and having fun.
(I just hope they aren't sick on their cruise right now...
...because a bug has been passed around the Berry Family
this last week.)
Oh and what is even better...
they are staying here for the summer rather than going to San Diego!
My little girl will have 4 Aunts and 4 Uncles!

Oh, remember that sick note a minute ago...
...that brings me to my next piece.
Nik was sick with a Stomach Bug all Sunday
And we just thought it was some Ranch he had with his Pizza.
THAT'S a JOKE!
Cuz I didn't eat that Ranch....and now I'm sick.
It has not been a fun 24 hours
ESPECIALLY as the Baby is practicing her Gymnastics Routine in MY BELLY!
EXCUSE ME!
Not today, please.
Okok....I am so grateful she is well and kicking....but she has never been this continuously active.
Everrrrr.
And on the day when I am most nauseous she decides to play around.
I could feel her doing somersaults and cartwheels.
It was insane.
It was awesome at some points and then others would make my eyes go cross.
But...really....I'm glad I have an active baby and that everything is good and well.
I can't wait to meet her!
So...we pray this sickness will leave soon.
Nik just has some lingering side effects and hopefully it will be gone...
...because how long he is out is a sign of my days ahead.
YUCK!

So...that is what is new.
Don't forget...

DOUBLE DIGITS, BABY!!!

Pregnancy...Still Happening

Well, I guess I ought to let everyone know I am still alive.
Not much has changed since I last posted...
...other than the fact I am getting bigger.
I don't feel like I LOOK bigger
But I am definitely growing.

I finally had to break out the box of Maternity shirts from my friend.
BriHo is so nice to let me borrow them!
I had to go find another pair of bottoms to wear
Because all my basketball shorts are finally too small.
This is all becoming more and more real to me.
I am so excited!

While I was at Kohl's the other night buying my pants
I just ended up in the baby section.
GOSH!
That stuff is so cute...
....and I almost wanna say cuter than Target.

Look at this!
My sister, Caren, is in LOVE with Giraffes and so I sent her the pic too.
I about died from cuteness
The cutest little jumper...everrrr!
I had to immediately turn and walk out of the section or I was gonna lose my self-control.
I went home and told Nik what I found but that I had the self-control to NOT buy it right away...
...to wait for it to go on sale,
And he was very proud of me.
Got a good pat on the back!
yay!

Other than that....our little girl had hiccups for the first time that I could recognize.
Yesterday morning the same rhythmic pattern lasted for over a minute.
It was so cute...little tiny hiccups!
And then she decided to do a full, sprawled out somersault....and made me nauseous.
I had to laugh after I gained my composure...it was quite the trip.

I have loved my pregnancy thus far and am so happy to have this opportunity.
June 22nd is only 16 weeks from today!
Wow!
THAT.IS.NOTHING!

Our Merry Christmas

Christmas morning we woke up
BRIGHT and EARLY!
5:15am to be exact.

After getting ready, we opened presents at 6am
and then headed to Grandma's house for our Breakfast tradition.
We ate our Mickey Mouse Waffles, yes waffles....not pancakes.
Top that!
Then we had our sliced oranges and baked apples.
Add in some eggs and salsa with some bacon.
DEE-LISH!

Then we opened presents there and could feel all the love from our families.
We are so blessed to be so close to our families.
After presents we played some Mario Cart (Thank you Santa),
played Phase 10 (Allred tradition),
Watched some Despicable Me (Thanks again Santa),
And slept.
Then Nik and I headed off to Nanu and Grandpa's house.

After almost running out of gas, because we were just so excited for Christmas, we made it safely.
We hung around for a bit until the food was done cooking.
Had a delicious roast, mashed taters, corn, yummy salad, and rolls.
Can't forget about the Poppers that Nanu gets us each year for us to pop.
Inside our Poppers we each got a paper crown to wear for the day, a joke, and a fun toy.
(we love traditions!)
After dinner we cleaned up and opened our gifts there.
We love our family.
Everyone gets along and loves each other.
We are so blessed.
After presents we had some pie and Wassail and then rolled ourselves out the door.
SO.MUCH.FUN!

Here are the two pictures I have from the day and am waiting for the rest to arrive via email.

This was our 2009 ornament and tree.
LOL.
Our tiny Provo apartment did not have adequate room for a tree
And we were going to be in AZ and CA for the majority of the holiday
I just bought this 4inch tree candle to sit atop our t.v.
Oh, the memories!

 This is our 2010 ornament.
All the writing was chosen by Nik.
Gotta love his humor and ability to have fun.
This sat on my parent's tree because we didn't have one of our own again.

And here I am at 14weeks and 1day (Christmas day).
Depending on what I wear you can see it or you can't because I'm not that big.
But it's fun to see a little growth.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas like we did!

Call Me A Baby...

...But I just cannot help but tear up everytime I see this picture.
(which is probably means it's not a good idea to make it my desktop.)

It means so much to me to see all these people that love and support us.
To know that the man I am kissing is the man I get to keep for the rest of my life.
To know that he makes me so happy.
To know that half of these people I inherited with this marriage
And they are wonderful to me.
To know that THIS is love, life, and happiness!

This was the happiest day of my life...so far...
....another to come this summer!

Coming Soon to a Couple Near You - June 24 2011

Yep, this is REALLY happening!
We are going to be parents around June 24th, 2011
(although I want to have it on the 22nd)

All the families know and are excited.
My mom and dad teared up,
My Mother-In-Law almost fainted,
And all my sisters screamed, Amy included!
Oh, and can't forget our brother, Sam,
who is excited to be Uncle Sam soon.
It was a shock to everyone but we are Soooo Happy!
=]

Newlywed Graduates!

June 10, 2010
Disclaimer:
This is long overdue....
but made possible with the faster internet now.
In California our internet was too slow to do any pictures on our blog,
so that is why there is a huge space between posts.
Enjoy!

This has been one crazy fun year of marriage.
We have lived in
Provo, UT
and
San Diego, CA
and loved each experience in its own separate way.

Now it is time for our First Anniversary
so we got work off to head over to
DISNEYLAND!
We were both so excited because the last time I went to Disneyland I was 8 and Nik's last time he was 18.
This was MUCH overdue....
and came at a perfect time for living 90 minutes away from the park at the time.
Here are some pictures I can FINALLY load up with the faster internet.

Welcome to Disneyland, ya Lovebirds!

In front of Splash Mountain.
We did this one twice.
Loved it.
Pictures below.

Don't know why this is sideways

I love him!

This was our delicious lunch
And our waiter snuck into the picture
It was so good!
We stuffed our faces and didn't have to eat for the rest of the day.

Before

After.
OMGoodness! It was sooooooOOOOooooO Good!

On the Matterhorn.
First time on this ride because when I went at 8yrs old,
some guy fell off of the ride just prior to our visit,
so it was down for construction.
Eek.
I WAS a little nervous to ride it.

1st ride.
Made him go first because I didn't want to fall out.

My MOST FAVORITE ride EVERRRRRR!
Nik and I waited a little longer than 2 hours to get the front seats.
It was AWESOME!
(don't mind my goofy face)

Our last ride of the day.....
I WAS SCARED OUT OF MY MIND!
But then I wanted to go on it again right away.
It was amazing.

Well, that sums up our trip. It was so fun.
I love this man and the fun times we have together.

Allred/Berry Family Pictures

My awesome friend
took our Family Pictures this weekend
and here is a sneak at what she did.
(p.s. - last time we took Family Pics Hannah was a newborn
...8 years ago!
About time?
I'd say so!)

I love my family.
More to come.
Thanks Andrea!
