The Best Two Years

This post is a little delayed, but as you might pick up from my previous post....
my life has been a little crazy lately

June 10th was our Anniversary but since Tatum was going to be home from the NICU by then, Nik and I decided to celebrate a little early.
So on June 3rd we went to The Melting Pot and had a wonderful time together.

Here are some pictures from that evening.
 I love him!
I think the blurriness comes from all the heat in that little booth.
Cuz yes, we are hott!!!
:)
Ok, and maybe something to do with that melting pot and all the steam.
Yeah, kinda forgot to take a 'before' picture here.
The food is too good to last long enough for a picture.
One happy little wife and new mamma!
Our waiter asked what we were celebrating so we told him our anniversary and new baby.
When it came time for dessert, he brought out this little dish.
So sweet!
Gosh! Every part of the meal is amazing...and I made sure to capture this before it was gone!
Happy 2nd Anniversary!
Couldn't have asked for a better person to spend my life with.

Here is to many many MANY more celebrations!

WEIRD!

Yesterday I had my Glucose testing down at my OB office.
I had the Fruit Punch drink...which tasted just like Hawaiian Punch.
It WAS AWESOME!
I woulda asked for more...but I'm sure all that sugar can't be good for me.
=]
So Dr Beck measured my belly and said everything is still on track
And that I will be going in every 2 weeks now
As opposed to the 5 weeks in between.
So that was crazy!
2 WEEKS?!?!
That is gonna make time fly!
And then he said after 2 of those it will be
Every week!
WHAT?!
And that we will talk about Labor and Delivery.
AGH!
Serious?!
This is actually coming to an end.
I will see our little girl in NO TIME!
It was so weird walking out of there with an appointment scheduled for the beginning of May.
WHOA!
I am so excited.
WE are so excited!
9 weeks and 1 day left...
IF she doesn't come earlier...
Now THAT is weird to think about.
haha.
I mean, 9 weeks isn't that long...
But what if she decides to come in 7 or 8.
Whoa Nelly!

p.s. As I am typing up this post I am eating my lunch.
It is a simple PB&J...those have been so delicious to me lately.
I'm usually not a big fan.
But did you know....I cannot eat the last bite, the corner of the sandwich?
Can't do it.
It is disgusting to me.
Don't know why
But there will always be one small bite left of my sandwich
From the bottom corner,
Usually the bottom right corner.
Just one interesting fact about The Preggo
Although it has been that way my whole life
No matter what type of sandwich it is.
Just sayin.

First of Many

So last night was the first night I have experienced what so many other mothers talk of and dread...

NO SLEEP!
Our Little Jewel decided she wanted to play around...all night long.
Before this, she would be quiet and if she played around, I had no idea.
Occassionally she would wake up with me around 3:30am on my potty break, but that was it.
She was as light as a feather when she would move.
Well, not anymore. She is one strong little lady.
I could not for the life of me get more than 30 minutes of sleep at a time.
Didn't help that her and her daddy decided to tag-team and keep me up all night.
I guess it was warmer than usual in our room last night, so Nik would not lie still.
But then again...neither could I...BECAUSE the two of them kept moving.

I laugh at it now...but maybe it is just because I am super-dee-duper exhausted!
lol.
And I am very very happy that everything seems to be healthy and right on schedule...
Just part of learning how to deal with this completely different part of life.

But on a different note...my mom and I play our own Scrabble Game on FBook.
Now, this is very unusual because the family isn't the biggest fan of playing that game with her...
...because she is SO DARN GOOD!
She jokes about reading the dictionary when she was younger, but I swear she did.
In fact, if I close my eyes REAL hard I can see her from my spot on the clouds in Heaven doing so.
True story.
;-)
Well, we started a new game, because I actually won last game.
THAT, my friends, IS RARE!
So it's my first turn on this new game....and in 2 minutes I find a word using ALL my 7 letters...
...giving me the 50pt bonus! I was super stoked! I couldn't stop laughing...not that I was rubbing it in, because I know it will eventually be her winning....but I was just sooooo happy I got a good score and was in the lead.
And the funniest part was how the word directly relates to my pregnancy - CRAVINGS. lol
Well, my next hand of tiles were A A A I I U T.
CRAP!
What am I suppose to do with that?!?!
See, this game is not about strategy at all...it's about luck and knowing weird words.
Well, I guess a little about strategy because you don't want to play somewhere next to a DW or TW to allow the next player that spot. But other than that, just takes brains.

Now onto the BEST part of the night....Cherry Swirl Coffee Cake

FORGET about DINNER!!!
Bring on this bad boy!
Just found this on the Betty Crocker site....and made it in a jiffy.
You should try it out.
Looks almost like the Entenmann's Coffee Cake.
If it is a similar match...I'll be in heaven.

Well, that is all for tonight, folks!
Have a good weekend.
Loves!

German Chocolate Thumbprints

WOW!
Can you say DELICIOUS?!?!

I Heart German Chocolate Cake.
I ask for that cake at my birthday.
I get that ice cream at Cold Stone.
My mom makes these delicious German Chocolate Brownie/Muffins.
And now I have a cookie to add to the mix.

I am in HEAVEN!

Check out this link to the recipe!
Except next time I am going to add Pecans to the cookie mix
and do 1/2 tsp of frosting on the top.

I did make these a bit small, but only because I feel better eating small cookies.
Plus they are cuter when small.

I will let you know how it goes when I make it again this week,
Cuz heck, there is a ton of frosting to use up!
Oh Bummer!!!

Me.Want.Cookie! Me.Eat.Cookie!

This is the blue version of myself.
I CANNOT get enough of cookies right now!
(You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you
that I sing Cookie Monster's little song in my head
in my spare time, would you?
True Story.)

See...I am not much of a candy person, or a cake person, or pie, or even cookie...
But right now, I cannot stop thinking about cookies.
I cannot stop baking cookies.
I just cannot get enough.

This week I have made
Chocolate-Marshmallow Pillows,
No-Bake Cookies,
Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies (thanks Grandma Allred for the kit),
and
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies (thanks Grandma, again, for the kit).
Obsessed? Maybe.
Delicious? Definitely.

I woke up this morning and one of the first things I told Nik was that I wanted cookies.
After church we took a little nap and when I woke up I told him I was going to make some cookies.
He just laughs,
But I know he enjoys it too.
The whole family does.

Here are the delicious Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies I made with the kit Grandma gave me for Christmas from Lehi Roller Mills.
Yes, you can see they are a hit already!
All those empty spaces once held the yummies.

Oh how I love cookies.
After much denial I guess I can say I crave cookies.
From my previous post you see I once craved Orange Chicken,
But once I passed the 1st Trimester I was done with that craving.
Now it is this yummy goodness that keeps me up at night.

So if you have extra cookies lying around, send them MY WAY, please!

19weeks 1day
I FINALLY feel that I look like I am pregnant,
rather than looking like I just gave up my Resolution of the gym in the first month.
Still having constant pain from all the shifting in my lower back, hips, and even my ribs.
If any mothers or pregnant ladies have suggestions, let me know!
But let me tell you, I truly am loving this whole experience.
It amazes me everyday what is going on.
That there is my baby growing more and more, getting ready to meet her mommy and daddy.
That Nik and I get to raise this beautiful little spirit.
This is amazing!
Through all the pain, I still smile at the end of the day.
I love her already.
And I love the wonderful husband of mine who has been so supportive through this whole experience.
He is a great husband,
(not to mention good looking!),
And he will be a great father
(I just know it)!

Not-So-Normal Grapes

So...remember my post just earlier today...(see below)...well that purchase at Safeway included some grapes.
These are magical grapes.
Have you ever had grapes from Chile?
Have you ever had grapes infused with nectarine juices?
I HAVE!
Let me just tell you....the most delicious grapes I've ever had.
I'm gonna go get some more!
Just sayin.
Well...this was a ridiculous post but I had to share it.
Thanks for readin!

Beginning of my 2nd Trimester

Ok...So I'm on a roll today! Let me just make all my blogs at once! K? Sounds great!

Well...I was moving into my 2nd trimester on December 13th being 12weeks and 3days. That Monday was HORRIBLE.
I just kept feeling nauseous...like usual...and I just wanted to roll over and quit. Food was nauseating, the THOUGHT of food was sickening, the process of EATING food was not helpful, and I just was sick. I hated feeling this way. I just wanted to sleep and NOT have to eat anything. WHY do we have to eat? It's silly.

But then the miracle that some speak of happened the next day.
Tuesday December 14th....I had the huge ball of energy, I felt GREAT! I was hungry all the time but never nauseous. I couldn't believe it! At the end of the day I said my prayers of thanks and then waited for the following day to kick my butt again....
BUT IT DIDN'T!
It was GLORIOUS!
I had energy. I felt great. I LOVED food! I couldn't get enough food. Wonderful!

And everyday since then I have been perfect. Not one ounce of nausea, sickness, or yuckiness.
I have been very tired still but I can live with that.
Food seems to love me as I love it. We get along very well right now.
Oh...and I haven't gained a pound since my first visit! (Which I am told it good for the 1st trimester and then I am suppose to SLOWLY and LIGHTLY gain pounds as the baby gets bigger. Yay for saving it through the holidays!)

Well that's the update! 14weeks and 3days right now. yay! Next month I should be able to find out what we are having. I still feel it's a boy. We shall see!

Who's Your Daddy!

So....
ever since I can remember Panda Express making the Orange Chicken more spicy....
I have HATED it!

Nik on the other hand LOVES it!
Sometimes if there isn't anything else that looks good he will get double Orange Chicken.
I can't stand it.
Sometimes it is so overpowering I feel my nose hairs fry off.
lol.

Well, ever since this baby landed in my belly...
...I have been CRAVING Orange Chicken.
I just can't get enough.

So....all I can say is that Nik is definitely the daddy...
And the baby has his taste buds.

So I texted Nik to tell him this:
This baby is DEFINITELY yours!
Not just for obvious reasons but also because
I can't stop craving Orange Chicken!

He replied:
If it is MY baby, as you claim,
It would crave TimTams and Dawna.
Seeing as how it OBVIOUSLY hates you
And you have not craved the chocolatey goodness that is TimTam...
It is OUR baby.

So he obviously took the "yours" in my text too literally...but his reply cracks me up.
"Seeing as it OBVIOUSLY hates you..."
lol.
For the last couple days it has been non-stop discomfort of the stomach.
(just an fyi)

He is so funny.
I love him!
So I just replied and said
Meant to say YOU are DEFINITELY the FATHER.
Oh well...he is still cute and funny.
